We'd kill to live in Washington

For our honeymoon, we went to D.C. When people ask us where we went and we tell them Washington D.C., they usually give us a crazy look and say, "Oh, that's nice," or bluntly, "Why did you go there?" Despite these dirty looks, we LOVED it and wouldn't go back and change anything. We are both really into politics (not really). At any rate, the hotel that we stayed at was nicer than any we will probably ever go to in our lives! The Aveda products won me over. One of my favorite moments on the trip was when Ben mentioned, (while eating his gelato at Pitango) "I'm just such a sculptor when eating ice cream." I married a funny and talented boy. Other highlights from the trip include Mt. Vernon (the home of George Washington, Ben's idol!), which we could have made a day trip out of because it's so interesting and beautiful there, 7th Hill Pizza, 2AMY's, the metro, a capitol tour, the national archives and museum of art, paddle-boating and smooching on the Potomac, and a new husband! We ate a lot of pizza.
The humidity on the east coast is a hair downer. MY main motive for going to D.C. was to convince Ben that we should live there for a few years. I think I did a pretty good job, however, we were shocked after inquiring about the rent for an apartment; it might not be in the cards for us.
We can't wait to vacation more together this summer-honeymooning with this guy was absolutely dreamy.

  1. I think a honeymoon in D.C. is a genius idea! I just wish I had thought of it. I did love Disneyland, though...

  2. WOO HOO!! You two were born to live there! Cute pics. Cute couple.

  3. Funny to think we were going to nanny in DC! It's still on the top of my travel list!
