life in pictures (and some words, too)

We had a busy year in 2013 and 2014 is proving to be equally eventful.  There is too much to say, so these pictures will have to suffice.

When we were first married and moved into our ward, we were called to be ward missionaries together.  It was totally fun to serve together, and we enjoyed it a lot.  We then were called to be Sunbeams teachers.
Whew!
These kids were pretty adorable and pretty nuts.  After being thrown headfirst into the calling (the third-grade teacher in me was trying to teach 3-4 year olds elaborate lessons and was expecting them to answer questions, stay in their seat, and talk about things other than sea animals-lofty goals for sure), we finally were shown the ropes.  We love those kids and were so sad to move (details on that later).  We both learned a lot, but the most important thing was that Ben learned never to take a group of small boys to the bathroom or else you will be asked to wipe a lot of bums(cheeks spread apart and all).

Christmas 2k14 was a hit!  Top highlights were the conga-line dancing Santa (Hi, Dad!), making the annual visit to the temple lights on Christmas Eve, skyping Elder Lunt in St. George (we were a weepy bunch) and Grandmary and Grandpa Nielson in London.  Christmas with missionaries is so much fun!

Ben turned 24 in December.  We ate free Joe's meals, opened presents, and ate more free food.  Highlights for him were chocolate milk (pictured above) and funfetti cake (his annual request).

Emily got engaged and had a bachelorette party, too.

Temps dropped and early morning playground duty became insufferable.

Emily got married and was a beautiful bride!

That's all for now!
